People’s Deputy, the Party of Regions parliamentary faction member Tatyana Bakhteeva took part in resuming the tender “Cancer is curable” conducted within the framework of a project of the Charitable Foundation “The Development of Ukraine”. According to her, the level of Ukrainian health care will become considerably higher due to the support of Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation.

Within the framework of a project of the Charitable Foundation “The Development of Ukraine” “Cancer is curable”, a tender was held to purchase medical equipment for the Donetsk Regional Clinical Medical Association (DRCMA) and the National Institute of Cancer. The bids of leading world producers of medical equipment were examined. In the course of their long professional discussion the winners were determined. Thus, the medical equipment for the National Institute of Cancer will be supplied by Philips Medical Systems and for DRCMA – by GE Medical Systems SCS.

Tatyana Bakhteeva, Head of the Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Health Care, as a member of the Supervisory Council of the tender mentioned that “every participant in this project shares one goal – to save and protect our people’s health and life”. “Acute concern over the pain faced by thousands of people with diagnosis of cancer has gathered us today”, People’s Deputy underlined.

“It is very pleasant for me to note that already today, just over a month later, we see real assistance, real deeds and have firm confidence that this project will be fulfilled, will work and will save people”, she said. The People’s Deputy adduced statistics, according to which in Ukraine over 160 thousand new cases of diseases are registered and about 90 thousand oncological patients die every year. And by 2020 their amount can increase to 200 thousands.

The Party of Regions Deputy is convinced that through the project “Cancer is curable” the Foundation “The Development of Ukraine” gives hope to thousands of sick Ukrainians for recovery.

Speaking about a pattern of the tender on selecting the equipment manufacturers, Tatyana Bakhteeva said that “it is an example of an unbiased and fair approach to choosing a supplier. It is the format of a tender which public authorities in Ukraine should strive for. Unfortunately, nowadays domestic medicine is called one of the most corrupted industries. There are the facts of purchasing the equipment from foreign producers who do not have authority in the world market, and the expensive equipment delivered by them is of low quality and is not up-to-date.

According to T. Bakhteeva, the companies which offered state-of-the-art and high-performance equipment became the winners of the tender.

Tatyana Bakhteeva thanked all international experts who worked at the Tender Commission. She pointed out significant importance of the opinion of the professionals who deal with the equipment every day, but which is bought for our country’s people for the first time.

According to her, People’s Deputy Rinat Akhmetov will systematically assist Ukrainian health care in the future. “And Rinat Akhmetov’s words and deeds are never at variance”, Tatyana Bakhteeva summed up.
