People’s Deputy, the Party of Regions parliamentary faction Vice-Chairman, president of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Businessmen Anatoliy Kinakh told journalists in an interview that the one-sided position concerning the Georgian-Russian conflict, which was taken up by Ukraine, severely undermines its image in the world.

“It creates the conditions, when Ukraine becomes, in fact, a firing ground, a working material for implementing overseas global scenarios which contradict our national interests very often”, – Anatoliy Kinakh said.

In his opinion, presently the main risks for Ukraine’s national security are not foreign, but home ones, in particular crisis of practically all bodies of state power due to political confrontation. “Nowadays internal confrontation and domestic cynical PR have already become a part of foreign policy. And if there is no common position within the state, the latter will never be able to assert its external interests”, People’s Deputy pointed out.

The UUIB President marked that the national security should be protected by the authorities regardless of political views. “Two years ago the National Security Strategy was ratified for the first time during the independence of Ukraine. It explicitly sets down the state’s position regarding the attitude towards global collective security, development of power, economic, ecological security, – he reminded. - Only provided its principles are adhered to, we can be sure of maintaining the state system, peace and sustainable growth”.
